Hi and Welcome! My name is Kira and I'm a busy wife, mother (to two young boys under ten), volunteer, and run an online business (Delicious Steals)...I as well am a NEW lover of fishing!I've always been one of those people who is always on the go and find it hard to sit down, relax and do NOTHING. Although this go go life style gets everything done..after years it's worn me down and try as I did I couldn't find a way to find a calm, peaceful place to just relax. Last year that all changed for me. I grew up in the city and although I tried fishing as a child once or twice (with no luck) I think most people including myself would have said fishing wasn't something for me. I've never been a girly girl, but nor am a rugged outdoors lady either..love nature..but I don't even camp overnight anywhere.
Last year on a whim I decided to take my sons rod from him when he was losing interest after fishing for awhile with my husband. I hadn't cast a line since I was maybe 7 years old and had no clue what I was suppose to do. My husband gave me a brief lesson and I was ready to go. I cast that line into the water and within a minute there was a tug and I yanked and reeled in this good size sunfish...that was IT..I was HOOKED! From that point forward every available moment last summer was spent with my line in the water. The summer was spent with awesome catches of various fish of various sizes....Crappy to Large Mouth Bass (and an elusive pike that jumped off the line before I got him on shore). I found my ZEN PLACE...a place where I was relaxed, calm and peaceful..yet still doing SOMETHING!
I'm no expert YET...but I'm working on it...for now I'm just A GIRL and HER ROD having fun and learning!
